Music In May: London's Accessible Venues

Updated: Mar 28, 2023

In this month’s best accessible venue series, we’re looking at London: a cultural hub for all things entertainment.

EartH in Hackney is being refurbished to ensure level access for everyone. While we wait for it to reopen, here are three of the best accessible venues in London.

The Roundhouse

The Roundhouse has hosted legends including Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd and was awarded gold standard by music Charity ‘Attitude is Everything’ in 2015 for its

accessibility. They have accessible bars and box offices, lifts, priority entry for wheelchair users and relaxed performances for some productions. Why not go and see Christian Loffer or The Big Moon in May?

KOKO

Koko is a smaller, more intimate venue, but it has a big focus on accessibility. The venue has ramp access, offers priority entry for people with disabilities and all staff have completed ‘Attitude is Everything’ training. In May, they have a huge selection of performers, including The Selecter and indie pop band, Teleman.

This venue offers level access from the main entrance to the performance arena and has a lowered bar for Wheelchair users. The venue also gives free tickets to any personal assistants accompanying someone with a disability. If you’re into anything gothic, make sure not to miss Nekromantixs.
