Comedian, writer and actor Rosie Jones takes to the stage this month in her first national stand-up tour. The 32-year-old is famous for her outrageous personality and impressive back catalogue, with her work spanning from The Last Leg to Sex Education. Triple Threat will tour from 3 rd March until 10 th June, with many dates around the country already sold out. In Triple Threat, Rosie explores whether she is a national treasure, a little pick, or somewhere in between.
Jones is diagnosed with Ataxic Cerebral Palsy, impacting her mobility and speech. She often incorporates this throughout her performance, using cheeky and subversive humour to battle ableism. Rosie is one of the few disabled comedians regularly shown on prime time tv, with her own comedy travel show Trip Hazard airing in 2021.
Jones is also a pioneer for representation in the world of children’s literature. The Amazing Edie Eckhart follows the eleven-year-old Edie, who doesn’t let Cerebral Palsy get in the way of her passion for performance.
While you scour the internet for Rosie Jones tickets, production company Mighty Bunny are launching their new radio sketch show. It’s called Writey Funny and features writers who are deaf, disabled and neurodivergent. It focuses on up-and-coming writers but application for has now closed. The show is in production and will be hitting the airwaves soon.
We can’t wait to see what this generation of disabled comic talent has in store. Tickets are available at rosiejonescomedy.com/live , and you can follow @mightybunny on twitter for updates.
